‘Audiovisuel public : Les secrets d'une commission d'enquête’ takes us behind the scenes of the highly publicised parliamentary committee of inquiry into public broadcasting. Chaired by Horizons MP Jérémie Patrier-Leitus, with Charles Alloncle – MP and spokesperson for the Union of the Right for the Republic – acting as rapporteur, this committee has shed unprecedented light on the work of parliamentarians, at times in a controversial manner. This previously unseen documentary details the legislative process, which is little known to the general public. Throughout the film, the MPs on the committee share their exclusive accounts of the origins of an inquiry committee, the practical role of the parliamentarians who sit on it, the mechanics of the hearings and, implicitly, a fundamental questioning of the real usefulness of such committees.
